Hevi
The Mighty Leap
Inspired by Hanuman
The story
Hevi is inspired by Hanuman, the devoted friend of Rama in the Ramayana and the son of Vayu, the wind. He was strong enough to leap across the sea to Lanka to find Sita. When the demons of Lanka set his tail on fire, he ran across the rooftops and set the city alight. When Lakshmana lay dying, Hanuman flew to the Himalayas for a healing herb. He couldn’t tell which one it was, so he carried back the whole mountain. He fights with a mace. His father Vayu rides a deer, so Hevi rides Mriku, the wind deer.
