Gevi
Remover of Obstacles
Inspired by Ganesha
The story
Gevi is inspired by Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, who is honoured first before anything new begins. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati. In one telling, Shiva didn’t recognise him and cut off his head, then gave him an elephant’s head in its place. One of his tusks is broken: a story says he snapped it off to keep writing when the sage Vyasa dictated the Mahabharata to him. He loves modaks, sweet dumplings, and his mount is a mouse. Gevi rides Mushku, his mouse, and throws modaks in battle. In another story he snapped off his own tusk to fight Gajamukhasura, an elephant-headed demon no weapon could kill. A tusk isn’t a weapon. The beaten demon turned into a mouse, and the mouse became Ganesha’s mount.

Gevi’s chariot is pulled by Mushku. Mushku is the quickest off the line and turns tightest, but has the lowest top speed.
Every charioteer picks up the same items from the golden boxes, so the difference is in how the chariot handles.
